Energy firm to put best foot forward in Sanquhar

A RENEWABLE energy company is seeking opinions from Sanquhar residents about wind farm plans.

Koehler Renewable Energy is holding a public information session next Tuesday to introduce the company to the community before it submitting its planning application for their Rowancraig Wind Farm project just south of Sanquhar.

The proposed Rowancraig Wind Farm would be located approximately 2.4 miles West of Sanquhar with early studies suggesting seven turbines with a maximum tip height of 180m, although the company emphasise that plans are still at a very early stage and open to change.

The meeting will allow people to meet the team and make suggestions about how Rowancraig can maximise social and economic benefits for the local area.

Nick Forrest, Senior Project Developer for Koehler Renewable Energy UK, said: “This upcoming information event offers an excellent opportunity for myself and the Koehler team to meet the Sanquhar and surrounding community.

“We hope that by introducing our project, and revealing further details about the community and environment benefits that Rowancraig will have, we can put our best foot forward.”

The public meeting will be held in the Nithsdale Hotel, on Tuesday November 22 from 3pm to 7pm.
