ANNAN 2ND XV went down 31-5 away to Dumfries in a West Reserve One fixture last Saturday. Both teams were also competing for the AA MacPherson Memorial Trophy at Park Farm. Annan played the first half against a strong wind, but they made a far better start than the previous week. It was 20 minutes before the first try was scored by Dumfries. The hosts then added two more tries and two conversions, making the half time score Dumfries 19 Annan 0. The weather got worse in the second half, with heavy rain pouring down. The highlight for Annan was a try scored by Hayden Hodgson. However, a further two tries and a conversion were then scored by Dumfries. Pick of the forwards for Annan were Grant Wilson, Drew Thorburn and man of the match Hayden Hodgson. Pick of the backs were Alex Jones, John Glendinning and Scott Norman.
