Dumbarton defeat damages play-off ambitions

ANNAN'S play-off hopes took a dent at The Rock last Saturday following a 2-1 defeat to Dumbarton.

It was the home side who opened the scoring just before the hour mark after they pounced on a defensive mishap.

Scott Honeyman's first strike was saved, but he managed to prod it home on the rebound.

Five minutes later Dumbarton doubled their lead. Leighton McIntosh got the final touch following a wicked corner kick by Smith.

Keith Watson did manage to pull a goal back for the visitors, with a composed finish in added time, but it was too little, too late and Dumbarton claimed victory.
