Derby cup clash for ladies

GALABANK is the place to be at 3 pm this Sunday as Annan Ladies entertain Gretna in the Cup and Plate Group Stages. Last week the sides brought their pre-season schedules to a close. The Black and Whites lost 3-0 away to Whitehaven, but the performance showcased the side’s improvement over the past campaign after they were beaten 10-2 in the fixture last year. Manager Shaun Harrison said: “Today was exactly what I hoped for — a strong test in a great setting to finish our pre-season. The improvements from last year to now are huge. “The result isn’t what matters most – it’s the mindset, application, and progress, and I saw plenty of that today.” Elsewhere, Annan Ladies entertained Workington Town Ladies Reserves at Galabank on Wednesday night in their final friendly fixture.
