DUMFRIES and Galloway is preparing to host the Scottish Curling Championships for the fifth year in succession in 2026, with the men's and women's competitions set to return to Dumfries. The competition will be held at Dumfries Ice Bowl from Tuesday February 24, to Saturday, February 28. And organisers hope the event between the Olympics and Paralympics will provide the perfect platform to showcase Scotland’s top curling athletes to a global audience. Dumfries and Galloway has a strong reputation for producing world-class curlers and for hosting major events. Scottish Curling's major events manager, Charlene Graham said: “Scottish Curling is once again delighted to be hosting the Scottish Championships at Dumfries. "They have shown time and time again they can deliver a world class event in what is a state-of-the-art facility. Dumfries provides the perfect experience for both athletes and fans alike and we can’t wait for another Championships in February." The 2026 event is being planned as the most digitally ambitious yet, with fans able to expect live episodes of the SC Podcast, daily reviews, behind-the-scenes access, live scores and live text coverage. Spectators who attend in person will enjoy an unrivalled experience watching some of the world's best athletes competing for their national title. Graham Sloan, manager at Dumfries Curling, added: "The local organising committee is working hard to prepare the perfect platform for athletes from across Scotland to compete for the national title. "We are looking forward to bringing this level of competition and top athletes back to Dumfries and hope the local community will once again come together to welcome visitors, support curling, and inspire new curlers through our 'Try Curling' programmes.” Dumfries Curling has announced David Hardie Engineering as the principal sponsor. The renewed support from the engineering firm and other local businesses is hugely valuable and much appreciated.
