Crashes on Low Road and A76

A DRIVER dazzled by the sun was involved in a one-vehicle road crash at Cummertrees on Thursday evening.

Police Scotland say the 76-year-old woman was driving on the B724 Low Road at about 6.50 pm when she was in collision with a pole.
A spokeswoman said: “She did not require medical treatment and there is no further police involvement.”
She added: “It appears that as she’s come round the corner there’s been a glare from the sun, and she’s not seen the pole.
“The company responsible for the pole are going to try and make good, and obviously it’s going to be a matter between the driver and them as to whether there’s any recouping of losses.”

LATEST: Accident on A76

POLICE were called to accident on the A76 near Closeburn, Thornhill, on Friday morning when a vehicle left the road and ended up in a field.  There was no information on any injuries but there were delays to traffic due to only one lane being in operation.
