Costume capers for Heroes

The winners were Dumfries and County team D McDonald, L Douglas, J McClure and C Woods. Runners up were Carlisle quartet J Timbers, D Turnbull, M Wilson and V Craig; and third place went to Dumfries and Countyís F Allison, S Townsley, J Martin and C McKie. The fancy dress event raised £2789 for the charity. Lady captain Sharyn Prendiville said: ìI felt it was appropriate to show support for this very worthy cause, as Iím sure many players had connections of some description with the armed forces.î
