Conn-on the Queens!

QUEEN of the South Ladies moved six points clear at the top of the Scottish Women’s League One table after a late winner against Airdrieonians at Palmerston Park. And it was Alexandra Connon who was the hero of the hour when her strike made it 2-1 to the Doonhamers. Connon had opened the scoring inside the first minute when she finished from a cut back. But Queens dug deep and with the clock ticking, Connon bagged her second and the winner on 86 minutes to continue the side’s unbeaten start to the league campaign. Title rivals Inverurie dropped two points after a 3-3 draw against Cambusdoon, while Dunipace moved to second with a 16-0 win over Hutchison Vale.
