Closing day comp at Gretna

GRETNA Bowling Club held their annual closing day competition for the Gunners Cup on Saturday. It was once again sponsored by Dennis McCleary. The competition was a drawn pairs with 21 entries playing. The weather wasn’t the kindest, with bad downpours, but there was still some great bowls played. Losing semi finalists on the day were David Latimer and Irene Park along with Craig Williamson and David White. After a great final the winning team of Michael Latimer and John Watson defeated Peter Latimer and Gary Scott. Afterwards president Jamie Johnstone thanked everyone for their help this season, from the ladies in the kitchen and the bar staff to the groundkeepers.
