Children at wheel for drive through cinema

A DRIVE-THROUGH cinema experience with a child friendly twist will take place tomorrow.

Cars are set to park up at Boreland Hall tomorrow for a special film screening of 2014 live action family film Paddington, featuring everybody’s favourite marmalade loving , red hat wearing bear of the same name.

But it won’t be mums and dads in their Fords and Audis filling the crowds, but instead children in their very own hand painted cardboard cars .

Pupils from cluster school group Hutton and Applegarth primaries have been bus y decorating cars, donated by DS Smith Packaging , to sit in and watch the film.

Parent council member and mum-of-two Lynn Black said: “The event is being held on behalf of the schools’ parent councils, where all money raised will go towards.

“The idea is a follow on from our Film Club, which a parent holds ever y week at Hutton school and this is our version of a drive-in movie.”

She added: “The cars are available on a first come, first served basis and have been supplied by DS Smith and the children are decorating them themselves.

“Tesco have also donated the food for the evening so a massive thank you to them and DS Smith.”

Everyone is advised to bring picnic blankets and torches to the event.

The special outdoor screening of Paddington takes place tomorrow at 7.30 pm and the whole community are invited to come along .

Tickets are £3 each and include refreshment s for children and are available from the schools and on the night
