Charity cheers at pub music day

A BAR in Lockerbie was ‘jamming’ for a very good cause.

The Royal Bar hosted another successful Jam4Sam live music event and raised £3550 and counting for The Brain Tumour Charity.

It was in memory of wee Sam Dorrance, who died of a brain tumour in 2016 aged just five.

A series of bands, singers and musicians appeared live through the day, including Shaunie Craig, Mark It Zero, Pedro and the Pirates, The Green, Wounded Bull, Way Up, Under Neon and The Cherry Pinks.

Organiser Lynzie Dorrance, who was Sam’s cousin, said: “I don’t even have the words to describe what a great day we all had.

“My biggest thank you is to all the lovely people who came and supported us (even in the rain), their support and donations mean the world to me and all the Team Super Sam family!

“From the bottom of my heart, I thank you so much. Roll on 2024!”

She also thanked the bands, the sound team, and the sponsors, as well as Sam’s parents Tanya and Graeme Dorrance for allowing the event to happen.
