GRETNA FC 2008 claimed their fourth Lowland League victory of the season last Saturday away to Civil Service Strollers.

The Black and Whites won 2-1 at Christie Gillies Park. Kyan Gunn opened the scoring for the visitors following a scramble in the six-yard box and Iain Anderson doubled the advantage on 67 minutes with a clinical finish.

Civil pulled a goal back three minutes before the end but Gretna held firm to claim all three points.

Parker said: “It’s probably up there as one of the best team performances this season.

“There was hunger, desire and a lot of heart to get three points. From the first whistle I thought we were excellent.

“The game plan worked well and the boys executed it to perfection.

“Apart from a wee spell, I thought we were pretty comfortable and on the front foot.”

Parker’s men face a tough test tomorrow afternoon as they entertain league leaders Bonnyrigg Rose at Raydale Park.

Parker added: “They’re the league leaders, they’re four points clear. Jonny (Stewart) has done a great job there. He’s a really good manager and has got really good experience in this league. “They’re grinding results out every week and quietly going about their business.

“They’re a really good team and really well organised, hopefully we can put in a performance like we did at the start of the season.”
