SOLWAY Sharks have announced that star player Jake Bolton has left the club by mutual consent for family reasons. And a club spokesman praised Bolton. They said: “Everyone at the Shark Tank wishes Jake all the best in his future endeavours and thanks him for his dedication whilst pulling on a Sharks jersey.” Meanwhile, the Dumfries outfit enjoyed a perfect four-point weekend as they did the double over Basingstoke Bison. On Saturday, it was overtime drama between the pair at the Ice Bowl. The score was locked at 4-4 thanks to a Sharks comeback. Dylan Stewart was the hero of the hour as he secured the points for his side just 26 seconds into overtime. Sunday was more stress-free for the Martin Grubb’s side. The Sharks recorded a 5-2 victory. Carter Hamill was the hat-trick hero netting three times whilst in-form Jordan Busea scored twice. This weekend, the Sharks have another home doubleheader to look forward to. They take on Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday with a 7 pm kick off. The following day the two lock horns again with a 5 pm face off.
