Solway Sharks 2-3 Leeds Knights
ICE hockey returned to Dumfries last Friday night as the Solway Sharks took on the Leeds Knights in the NIHL.
It was the Sharks’ first game back at the Shark Tank but they could not quite get past the Knights who edged an important away victory.
Kell Beattie and Joey Coulter got the Sharks goals, while the Leeds third line did the business with Oli Endicott and Innes Gallagher both getting goals.
Telford Tigers (PS) 6-5 Solway SharksSATURDAY saw a crazy game in Telford as the Sharks battled from 4-1 down to tie it back up at 4-4 early in the third.
After 60 minutes and overtime, nothing could separate the teams but the hosts took the win on sudden death penalties.
Brynley Capps netted the winning goal for the hosts in the shoot-out.
The Sharks earned a valuable point on the road.
- THIS weekend the team have a triple header: On Friday they make the journey to Sheffield Steeldogs. And on Saturday and Sunday they play the Swindon Wildcats in Dumfries, face-off at 7 pm and 5 pm.
- During Saturday’s contest the team will wear limited edition Halloween jerseys which are going to be sold via auction after the game.
