Away day joy for Lochar

Lochmaben 1-5 Lochar LOCHAR claimed all three points at Whitehills Park following a convincing win at Lochmaben. Thistle got off to a quick start and took the lead on three minutes when a Finlay Kennedy in-swinging free kick was glanced home by Hugh Cameron. Just when it looked like the hosts were creeping back into the game, Thistle doubled their lead on 20 minutes when Marcus Zygadlo superbly finished from an acute angle. Lochmaben came out the blocks well in the second half and put pressure on the Thistle goal for a few good spells. But Thistle kept the pressure on at the other end and added to their lead midway through the half. Greig Corbett clipped the ball over the defence to find Zygadlo who again finished clinically. Lochmaben were gifted a lifeline on 75 minutes when slackness in the back line saw the home side get a goal back. But any hopes of a home comeback were dashed as Finlay Kennedy scored twice in the closing stages.
