Award for rally
THE RSAC Scottish Rally was honoured with the Coogie Urquhart Quaich at the annual Asset Alliance Group Scottish Rally Championship Awards. This award, bestowed upon the organising team of the most outstanding event on the championship calendar, and selected by the Scottish Rally Championship management committee, is highly prestigious. It serves as a distinguished acknowledgement of the dedication, diligence, and commitment demonstrated by the team in executing a successful rally. Andrew Pemberton, chairman of RSAC Motorsport Ltd, said: “We are deeply appreciative that the significant effort invested in ensuring the success of the event has been formally recognised. “This is only the second time the rally has received the best event award (formerly the Chairman’s Cup).” Jonathan Lord, clerk of the course, thanked all marshals, officials, competitors, and stakeholders for their contributions, including Dumfries and Galloway Council for 28 years of support, Forestry and Land Scotland for the stages, and Iain Wilson’s Jas P Wilson Forest Machines for hosting rally control and the service area. As the event marks its 80th anniversary, preparations for the 2026 celebration are already in progress. Organisers anticipate a remarkable occasion, with the rallying community expected to come together in Dalbeattie on July 18.
