Aoiffion is on the podium at UK finals event
SATURDAY was the final of the UK Youth Development Athletics League at Wavertree Tree Stadium in Liverpool.
Teams had qualified from across the UK including Edinburgh Athletics Club, who were representing Scotland.
And Aoiffion McVittie Brangan, from Langholm, was competing for Edinburgh at the event.
She started the day with a silver medal in the long jump; then in the 200m, she finished fourth, marginally missing out on a medal by only 0.11 seconds.
Aoiffion then won her second medal of the day, with a bronze in the 100m.
In her final race of the day, Edinburgh AC Girls U15 4x100m relay ream finished in fourth place, being edged out of a place on the podium by only 0.04 seconds.
However, their time of 50.46 seconds moved them to the number one ranked girls relay team in Scotland.
The UK finals rounded off a fantastic year for 13-year-old Aoiffion, who is a first year U15 athlete and was the youngest in her events at the UK Finals.
She is supported by The “Welcome to Langholm” Future Champions Awards and The Holywood Trust.
