Annan girls celebrate success at awards night

ANNAN Athletic Ladies and Girls U14 squad recently held their annual awards night at Galabank, marking the end of another fantastic season. A club statement said: “The hard work, commitment, and incredible team spirit shown by these girls is something we as a club are hugely proud of. “We’d like to thank every single player, along with their parents and supporters, for the consistent encouragement throughout the year. “A very special thank you goes to Audra, our wonderful team secretary, for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. “And, of course, thank you to our brilliant coaching team – Simon, Jo, and Bec – for your commitment and guidance every step of the way.” Award winners were as follows: Supporters’ Player of the Year – Millie. Coaches’ Young Player – Ellie. Coaches’ Senior Player – Poppy. Top Goalscorer – Orla. Playmaker – Katie. Ladies’ Team Player of the Year – Katie. Most Improved Young Player – Mazie. Most Improved Senior Player – Imogen. Spirit of the Team – Halle. Players’ Player – Millie. Special Mentions: Zara – Most versatile player. Ruby – Rock solid in defence. Jasmine – Bounce-back player. Congratulations are expressed to all of the award winners and to every player in this squad for playing a vital role in making this season such a success. More than half of the team will now progress to U16s next year.
