ANNAN suffered a heavy 69-0 defeat away to league leaders Strathaven in their latest West One fixture.

One highlight from the day, however, was father and son, Kieron and Mason Watret, both playing together for the 1st XV.

The team are next in action on Saturday February 28 when they visit Stewartry for the Chisholm Cup.

Meanwhile, training has continued in the last week for all age groups at the club, while new players are always wanted and welcome. No rugby experience is necessary.

Check out the club’s Facebook page or website for more information.

This Sunday the club’s youth section is hosting a ‘Bring a Friend’ session at Violetbank.

Youngsters, aged 5-12, are being encouraged to pop along and give rugby a try between 10 am and 11 am.

And the only fixture of the weekend sees the U13 Boys take on Biggar.

  • TOMORROW afternoon Moffat RFC are hosting a Doddie Dash at Station Park in support of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

The charity is funding research into finding a cure for MND.

And the whole family can get involved by cycling, running or walking around the park from 10 am to 1 pm.

On Sunday the U17 Moffar Girl’s travel to play Carrick in the cup, while the Senior Rams return to action at home to Hyndland on February 28.
