AN EMOTIONAL Jordan Allan admitted at times he thought he would never get back playing the game he loves. The forward has been out for the season after two knee surgeries. The striker signed on a permanent deal during the summer after impressing during his loan spell last term. But this campaign has been a different story where Allan has had to watch from the stands as he continued his gruelling rehab. One of the biggest roars of Saturday afternoon was when Allan came on in the final stages. He didn’t touch the ball during his cameo but Allan couldn’t care less about that, it was just getting back onto the park for the first time in months. Allan said: “It’s been a long hard road, there’s been so many bumps along the way but when you get back on that park it’s worth it. “I did feel at times like that moment was never going to come. “But I’m over the moon it’s happened and hopefully I can push on. “It really was the perfect day for myself to come back and the team getting the three points. “It’s been really tough, physically and mentally as there’s been so many set-backs and other things along the way. “The boys have supported me so it’s only fair to come and support them whilst I’ve been out. It’s a great changing room to be involved in. “At times I’ve been kicking every ball with them whilst I’ve been sitting in the stands.” Allan had two operations to sort out his knee. The first one didn’t go to plan but the second seems to have worked a treat. He added: “The less said about the first operation the better. The second one has worked though. “It’s been tough and there’s been a lot of trauma on my knee but I seem to be over it now and I’m pain free.” And now Allan wants to repay the people who supported him during his ordeal. He added: “I have a massive appreciation for everyone who has helped me along the way, they’ve been incredible. They’ve stuck by me and pushed through the hard times. “Now it’s time to play with a smile on my face, score some goals and repay everyone for their help.”
