Church reflection for Tunisia victims

A CHURCH in Dumfries is opening its doors later this week for anyone who feels affected by the shooting in Tunisia.

And Maxwelltown West Church of Scotland will also take part in the national one minute’s silence on Friday morning to remember those killed in the terrorist attack at Sousse last week.

The church will open up at 11.30 am to allow people to spend some time in quiet reflection and prayer prior to the silence at midday.

Rev Dave Sutherland has organised the event in response to the Prime Minister’s calls and said: “Everyone is welcome to find a place of quiet and peace interspersed with readings and prayers. It is a fitting way to remember those 38 individuals murdered in the terrorist attack on 26th June and to mark the minute’s silence.”
