Woman hurt in dog attack

A WOMAN was left with hand and leg injuries following a dog attack in Dumfries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened around 11:45 am on Sunday on the cycle path between Sandside and Nunholm.

As part of their investigation, they are keen to identify a woman described as white, elderly, 5ft 6, of medium build with grey hair. She was wearing glasses and a dark rain coat and she was walking a brown Border Collie.

The victim’s dog, a border terrier, also sustained bites to its face and neck, however it is not believed to be seriously injured.

Callers can get in touch with officers via the usual 101 number.
