The blades and tower sections were brought to the Solwaybank development near Waterbeck from Glasgow. They were transported down the M74 in convoys, coming off at junction 21, Kirkpatrick Fleming; then onto the B6537 and in via Chapelknowe, where a new haulage track has been constructed to the site. The 15 turbine windfarm is being developed by Renewable Energy Systems Ltd and is expected to become operational later this year.
