What does beauty look like for you?

BEAUTY icons come in all different shapes, sizes and ages and a new poll has found actress Helen Mirren is number one for most Scottish women.

They love her look, style and ageless glamour.
Be decided to ask women in Dumfries and Galloway whose famous face they most love – and a whole host of answers and reasons came back.
Claire Setz from Castle Douglas loves everything about Kate Moss, adding: “If I had to say one thing it would be because she’s effortless.”
It’s TV presenter Katie Piper for Anne Hamilton, she said: “She’s beautiful inside and out and is also a great ambassador for people with disfigurements.”
Jennifer Wilson, of Lochmaben, adores actress and singer Jennifer Lopez. She said: “I just love her natural beauty and the way she wears her makeup, I love the bronzed look and nudes that’s she always wears, basic but stylish.”
The young Catherine Zeta Jones is the pick for Donna Rae, of Dumfries: “I always thought she was so stunning, classy and elegant. She never went over the top with her make up, just emphasised her natural beauty. But most of all I loved her eyebrows: the perfect shape.”
Patricia Alexander, of Dumfries, is a fan of supermodel Helena Christensen because ‘she has beautiful features’, while Kaye Newsome loves Angelina Jolie and Shona Shaw votes for Princess Diana ‘because she was beautiful and seemed to make it look so effortless’.
Meanwhile, Hollywood star Jennifer Anniston is the number one for Dumfries duo Nicola Jess and Donna Kirk. They both described her as ‘flawless and youthful and naturally gorgeous’, and Donna added: “And don’t start me on her hair! Who hasn’t asked for a “Rachel”, whether it be cut or colour.”
And like many Stevie Johnston, of Dumfries, finds it hard to choose. She said: “I love Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lawrence – but I also think Kim Kardashian needs a mention. She may not be timeless, but her image and selfies have made her.”
Other suggestions from beauty fans across the region included Marilyn Monroe, Ellie Goulding, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Kate Hudson, Natalie Portman, Ursula Andress and Jane Fonda.
