Annan drivers in two-vehicle A75 crash

TWO ANNAN drivers were involved in a two-vehicle accident on the A75 trunk route on Wednesday morning.

The collision, involving a car and a van, happened on a stretch of the road near Mouswald, between Dumfries and Annan.

The driver of the car, a black Peugeot 308, a 77-year-old man, had a lucky escape from serious injury with the car ending up on top of a hedge. He was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for a check up and treatment.

The driver of the delivery-type van, a 66-year-old man, was uninjured.

A road closure was set-up at Collin and on the east side of the incident to allow recovery of the badly damaged vehicles and Transport Scotland advised drivers to use alternative routes.

The busy route was later reopened.
