Two crashes within minutes on rural road

Police and ambulance crews attended the B724, near Brooms Cottage, east of Cummertrees, around 2.50 pm after a Dacia Duster left the road, ploughed through a hedge and rolled over before ending upright in the middle of a field. The young driver, a woman understood to be from the Powfoot area, was checked over by an ambulance crew at the scene and was found to have escaped with only minor injuries. ACCIDENT SCENE . . . the spot near Broom Cottage where the Dacia Duster car left the road[/caption] Meanwhile, about 3.20 pm, emergency services were called to the second accident on the B724 at Glenstuart, a short distance west of Cummertrees. Again, a vehicle left the road coming to rest in a field. The male driver was shaken but was not thought to have suffered serious injuries or required hospital treatment.
