TV heat triumph for Tonka

TONKA the blue Staffie turned out to be one of Scotland’s top dogs.

He won his heat of Scotland’s Best Dog on BBC Scotland, shown last week.

And now viewers are waiting to find out his fate in the final.

Tonka appeared on the show with owner Yvonne Murray, of Lockerbie.

She described how it felt to win their heat: “I didn’t think we would stand a chance! It all happened so quickly that It seems surreal, I am super proud of him and I think it shows we have a great bond.”

She is waiting to hear when the final will be aired and is rallying the family to watch it, saying: “I work shifts so depends what date it’s on. What I might do is have a family night once it’s all been televised and we will have some drinks and nibbles and close family over and have it on iplayer catch up and enjoy all the moments all together.”
