A TROUBLED community council in Dumfries which faced fears it might have to dissolve is set to continue.

Complaints were lodged against Loreburn Community Council over its alleged failure to adopt a constitution within a set period.
And it led to fears that up to 40 community councils in total might be forced into a new round of elections for the same reason, after having only just completed elections in October.
However, at a special meeting on Tuesday night, Loreburn Community Council members were told that discussions had taken place and that it is set to continue for the present with the current membership.
Complaints lodged against the community council’s conduct are being handled by Dumfries and Galloway Council, who have said they were considering the matter.
