Tree trail

A CHRISTMAS tree trail will open in the Eskrigg Nature Reserve in Lockerbie this weekend.

And the centrepiece will be an enormous knitted tree made by members of the Lockerbie Ladies Craft Group.

It will be located at the end of the trail at the Eskrigg Centre. As well as enjoying an array of artificial Christmas trees dotted about the reserve, visitors will also be able to learn about the range of conifers grown in the area and their uses and also about the origins of Christmas trees.

The trail will be open until Wednesday December 27 with free entry but donations are welcome in support of Eskrigg.

There will also be a stall in the car park this opening weekend selling Lockerbie Wildlife Trust calendars, cards and notelets, as well as Lockerbie Rotary trees, trugs and bird boxes.
