NEXT month sees the return of ‘Knowledge K-november’ with a series of events to look at the region's woodlands in new ways. Following on from a successful programme last year, the programme gives attendees a chance to spend an evening learning more about the trees and woodland habitats in Dumfries and Galloway. The online events are led by the Dumfries and Galloway Woodlands team on Tuesday evenings throughout November. Looking at the programme, McNabb Laurie from Dumfries and Galloway Woodlands said: "There is a lot I am looking forward to here. The first event starts with Aspen but then considers how tree planting decisions we make can influence surrounding habitats. The second event compares how 19th Century literature and modern-day art is inspired by the woodlands of Dumfries and Galloway. The last event tackles an ongoing challenge: Winter Tree ID – how can we get better at identifying a tree on a grey, dank day in Winter! "We are working with speakers from across the UK, with the events on consecutive Tuesday evenings, all starting at 7.30 pm. All are welcome to join us for what is surely the most fun you can have on a dark Tuesday evening in November.” For more information visit: www.dgwoodlands.org.uk.
