Town board projects to be revealed at drop ins
A SERIES of drop-in sessions detailing a long-term vision for Dumfries start today.
Dumfries Town Board will be showcasing the details of the 17 projects that will be supported in the first year of the Pride of Place programme.
Each project represents investment in Dumfries’ future and has been selected to help deliver the Town Board’s long-term vision for the town.
They include a diverse range of community-led initiatives, heritage projects, regeneration activity, restoration of historic and long-derelict buildings, environmental improvements, skills and training opportunities, cultural development, tourism initiatives, and new digital communication platforms that will help connect residents, businesses, and visitors.
Chair of Dumfries Town Board Kenny Bowie said: “It is important for us to deliver real and visible benefits for Dumfries from day one. “These year one Pride of Place projects are a strong mix of investment in our people, our town centre, our heritage, our businesses, and our community spaces. This is just the beginning of our long-term vision for Dumfries, and we look forward to working with partners and the wider community to make that vision a reality.”
