Tool theft

TOOLS worth about £500 have been stolen from a van parked in Dumfries.

They were taken sometime overnight Sunday/Monday from a blue Fiat Doblo van which was parked in Douie Crescent.

The haul included a MAC Tools Hammer, 2x DWALT Batteries, DWALT Impact Driver and a blow torch.

Constable Hannah Wilson said: “We are carrying out door to door enquiries at this time and are appealing to anyone who may have been in Douie Crescent either late on Sunday night or early on Monday morning, and saw something suspicious, to get in touch through the 101 number.

“We are also urging those who carry tools in their vehicles to think very carefully about where they park and to ensure that vehicles are locked and secured at all times when parked up.”
