TRIPLE THREAT. . . Sergeants Alfie Stewart-Kay, Jake Oliver and Joshua Wheat with their award

THE BOY’S Brigade, 1st. Annan Company has celebrated three of its members being presented with a prestigious award.

Sergeants Alfie Stewart-Kay, Jake Oliver and Joshua Wheat have earned the President’s Badge, which is the second highest award which can be gained by a young person in the organisation.

Recipients need to achieve a number of requirements, including completing at least ten hours volunteering work, achieving a Level three Teamwork Award, spending at least two nights away on company activities and undertaking a ‘Faith Journey’.

Captain Iain Graham explained: “These three young men have probably had one of the hardest times working for their award through covid restrictions. We’ve been trying to arrange these presentations for a while and are very proud of their achievements.

“They have all started working towards the Brigade’s highest award, the Queen’s Badge, and we look forward to those presentations in due course.”

The Boys’ Brigade provides a programme of activity across four age groups for children from 5 to 18 years.

Each of the programmes provide fun and exciting activities with opportunities for children and young people to be recognised for their participation and achievement through awards.

The group, which meets on Friday nights at St. Andrew’s Parish Church Hall in Downies Wynd, Annan offers activities for Anchors and Juniors 5-11 years from 6 pm, and Company and Seniors 11-18 years from 8 pm.
