Taylor and David take on Lockerbie Gala roles

LOCKERBIE Gala and ROM have announced their 2016 Cornet Elect and Standard Bearer.

And this year’s Lockerbie Gala will be a double celebration for 2016 Cornet Elect Taylor Edwards.

For he will also be celebrating his 25th birthday that weekend.

Mr Edwards, a foreign exchange area manager for Travelex, jumped at the chance to be this year’s Cornet.

He will be joined by 2016 Standard Bearer David Kennedy, the Gala’s 1986 Cornet.

Farmer Mr Kennedy, 51, a dad of two, is looking forward to taking on the role.

The duo will be joined by a Cornet’s Lass, who will be elected on March 11 at a public vote at Lockerbie Town Hall.

For all the latest Gala gossip and to read about the FIVE ladies in the running for Cornet’s Lass 2016 see tomorrow’s Annandale Herald and Moffat News.

Tomorrow’s paper features a full page on the wannabe Lasses as well as pictures of Miss Valentine 2016, news on this year’s Gala Queen election process and more – out tomorrow!
