Students love UWS

STUDENT satisfaction at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is above the national average.

National Student Survey (NSS) results revealed that overall student satisfaction at the university, which has a campus in Dumfries, has increased to 84.9 per cent in 2018. This represents a two per cent increase compared to last year and sees UWS perform above the Scottish average in almost all categories.

In addition, the university has exceeded its target for positive student outcomes, with 86 per cent of graduates securing professional employment or further study in 2016/17. The percentage of students continuing their studies after their first year has also increased to 86 per cent.

A UWS spokesman said: “We are delighted with the latest student satisfaction results which are down to the hard work and commitment of everyone at UWS to delivering an excellent student experience.”
