Stalking day is chance to find out more
A SIMULATED stalking day will take place at Drumlanrig Castle this weekend. Taking place from 10 am to 4 pm in the training suite, Stableyard, the free-to-attend event will showcase Drumlanrig’s new simulated stalking experience, designed to provide an accessible, engaging, and educational introduction to stalking and countryside sport. There will be a series of Q&A sessions with Mark Ripley and thermal, night vision and countryside technology specialist Scott Country International will be offering visitors the chance to explore the latest in thermal imaging, night vision, and stalking technology. Derek Hutchison, sporting assistant at Drumlanrig Castle, said: “We’re genuinely thrilled to bring this new simulated stalking experience to life at Drumlanrig. What makes this open day so special isn’t just the evolution of our offering, but the incredible community around it, from the expertise of Mark Ripley to the outstanding support of our exhibitors like Scott Country, Hikmicro, Nocpix, British Deer Society, Country Sports Magazine, and Gamekeepers Welfare Trust. “Their quality, passion, and encouragement have helped shape something we’re truly proud of - a fresh, inclusive way to experience stalking that brings people together in a supportive and inspiring environment. “We’d warmly encourage anyone with an interest, whether you’re experienced or completely new, to come along, meet the team, chat with our exhibitors, and see first-hand how this exciting new offering is evolving.” Suzie Kennedy, from Scott Country International, added: “Events such as this play an important role in making countryside expertise and technology more accessible, whether for experienced stalkers, land managers, or those who are new to the activity. Thermal and night vision technology continue to become increasingly valuable tools in responsible deer management and land stewardship, and we look forward to giving visitors the opportunity to experience some of the latest innovations first-hand.”
