UPDATE: Schools close as snow hits

The hills and high ground around Lockerbie, Lochmaben and Moffat, pictured, were covered first thing - and more flakes are expected to fall throughout the day across the region. Ae Primary, Hutton Primary, Applegarth Primary, Nethermill Primary, Johnstonebridge Primary and Wallace Hall Primary and Academy have all been closed today because of the weather.
