SEWAGE spills at Rockcliffe are becoming all too common, and the Scottish Liberal Democrats want action. The picturesque beach has once again fallen victim to pollution, after storm sewage was discharged from a sewer overflow in this location at the end of last month. This latest incident has lead Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate for Dumfries and Galloway, Tracey Warman to call for action to reduce sewage spills she said: “This is disgusting news. Sewage should not be spilling on to our shores. "Households have faced steep rise in bills while water bosses pocket big bonuses. It’s shocking. “We don't even know the true scale of the sewage dumping that Scottish Water is presiding over because so little of the network is monitored properly, especially compared to England where 100% is monitored. “To turn the tide on the sewage scandal, Scottish Liberal Democrats have published plans for a Clean Water Act that would bring our sewage network into the 21st century, clamp down on dumping and end this disgusting practice. “If you want MSPs who will campaign to keep our region pristine, please vote for me on your constituency ballot and back Scottish Liberal Democrats on your peach regional ballot.”
