Scotland call up for five Sharks

SCOTLAND have announced their under 19's squad for a national ice hockey competition - and it features five local lads.

Solway Sharks’ players Stuart Kerr, Duncan Speirs, Scott Henderson, Kyle Johnston and Luke Houston have been selected by head coach Steven Lynch — along with a variety of players from different leagues to take on England.
Lynch said: “We’ve put together a team that’s very competitive and I think it’s probably the best Scotland Under 19’s team we’ve seen in a long, long time.”
With Kyle Johnston and Luke Houston selected as reserves, the coach is impressed with the competition for spots.
He said: “The one that stands out for what we have this year is the depth in our squad, as opposed to one or two special individuals.
“We’ve never really had that.”
This year’s U19 international is on Friday April 29 at Sheffield.
