TWO of the Dumfries Harriers completed an astonishing three races in one week.

Donna Davidson and Megan Carson ran the gruelling Moffat 15k Running Festival race last Tuesday night.

Only two days later the duo were back at it, this time at Castle Douglas for the Gelston five-miler.

And finally they rounded off the week with a half marathon at the Whitlee Windfarm just outside Glasgow in the Run the Blades Half Marathon.

Davidson placed first in her age category at Moffat and again at the Run the Blades half marathon.

A spokesman said: “What an incredible week of running for two of the Harriers finest ladies!”

It was also a fantastic effort from Harrier Emma Gillooly at the Moffat 15k, bagging second lady overall in an impressive 1:07:44. She is now a regular on the podium at this event in one of her favourite local races.

Also running at Moffat were Alistair Barclay (1:08:40), Keith Ainslie (1:15:07), Donna Davidson (1:21:59), Tina Roscoe (1:36:29), Lynn Goodwin (1:37:15), Christine Proudfoot (1:37:54) and Megan Carson (1:46:35).

The Castle Douglas Gelston five miler is always one of the more popular local races on the calendar and it was no different this year with a number of Harriers taking part.

Alex Dingwall was first Harrier home in 37:05, Richard Hoare in 39:45, the ubiquitous Donna Davidson now bagging a third in her age category in 40:58, Jenny Mckinney in 43:24, which also nabbed her a second place in her age category.

Closely followed by Carol Elliot in 44:58. Graeme Galloway and Gordon Patterson were both home together in 54:19 and Megan Carson was finished in 1:04:09.
