‘Reckless’ laser pen incident

A LASER pen was shone at a search and rescue helicopter, in an incident described by police as ‘reckless’.

Officers looking for assistance from members of the public who may have witnessed the ‘reckless conduct incident’ last month.

It occurred about 11.15 pm on July 17 possibly near Amisfield Primary School.

The pen was shone at the helicopter which was flying over Amisfield at the time. Fortunately on this occasion the pilot of the aircraft was not affected.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have information or who may have been in the area at the time and can be contacted on 101 quoting crime reference number PDG0152620721.
