THE region’s biggest football club have taken a stance against violence against women and girls.

Queen of the South FC (QoSFC) are continuing to work alongside the Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women Partnership to support the White Ribbon Scotland Campaign.

This campaign raises awareness of domestic abuse and other forms of violence which mainly affects women and girls.

On Sunday at 4 pm Queens will takine on Glasgow Rangers in a ‘White Ribbon’ game.

It is expected that around 3000 supporters will be given cards featuring the team wearing White Ribbons on their shirts along with a message encouraging them to support the new campaign.

This will give people a platform to speak out against domestic abuse and other forms of violence, as well as providing opportunities to take further action if they wish.

There will also be an opportunity to take pictures of the team supporting the White Ribbon Campaign just before the game at 3.20 pm.
