Princess to attend agri show

WIGTOWN Show will be by royal appointment this year as HRH Princess Alexandra will be in attendace.

She is attending the event at Bladnoch Park on Wednesday, August 3, as patron of the Belted Galloway Cattle Society.

For Wigtown Show is hosting the National and Centenary show for the Belted Galloway Cattle Society and over 100 Belted Galloways are entered.

Show secretary Richard Oxley said: “This will be a great spectacle to see in the main ring and lovely that the breed is coming to its homeland for the centenary show.”

The show team are also delighted to have a massive number of livestock entries and a good turnout is further expected on the day for showjumping.

As well as animals, there will be a busy craft marquee, food stalls and a full programme of afternoon entertainment in the main ring, including trials rider Steve Colley doing tricks.
