Prepare for great Lockerbie bake off

A LOCKERBIE Primary pupil is asking asking locals to put their best cakes forward and take part in a home-grown version of the Great British Bake Off in aid of the Lockerbie Swimming Pool Trust.

Student Brayden Kirkpatrick is so keen to see a swimming pool in the town that he contacted the committee to suggest a fundraising idea and the idea of Lockerbie’s own Bake Off was born.

The competition will boast four categories — decorated cupcakes, gingerbread people baked or decorated, scones and sponge cake and show stopper — for different age groups from pre-school up.

The Bake Off will take place next Saturday at Dryfesdale Church Hall and a coffee morning and bake sale will run alongside the event.

Anyone interested in taking part can pick up an entrance form from the town hall.
