A JOBS assurance has been given to 60 employees of an Annan firm — after being purchased by a multi-million pound international business

FIRM PURCHASED . . . Alpha Solway general manager Sheree Gracie and sales director Steven Binnie outside the business which employs about 60 people, and which has now been purchased by a multi-million pound international business

Alpha Solway in the town’s Queensberry Street manufactures and supplies specialist

“We have come a long way since our formation and look forward to the next stage of our development.”
Alpha Solway offers a range of off-the-shelf garments and also works with its customers to develop bespoke items designed to specification.
And its well-established products are available throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.
Addressing the impact of the acquisition, Alpha Solway say their facilities and staff will remain.
And Globus say they will maintain Alpha Solway’s offices which will run alongside their own headquarters in Manchester and regional operations in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Globus Group CEO Haraldur Agustsson said: “I’m delighted to welcome the Alpha Solway team to the Globus Group and recognise the skill and expertise they bring with them.
“We are extremely proud of what we have achieved in the field of hand protection with
our solutions impacting positively on safety and productivity across all industries.
“The introduction of Alpha Solway further extends our portfolio enabling us to offer a comprehensive range of high performance PPE to new and existing clients.”
Haraldur added: “Alpha Solway was selected as an acquisition partner as it has a complementary attitude and focus on the development of innovative products that are designed to keep people safe and comfortable in hazardous environments. Together we will make an even stronger force.”
