One woman protest

A LONE voice stood her ground on Tuesday night to protest against a proposed windfarm development south of Moffat.

@Body Copy News:But while Pat Caullie demonstrated outside Moffat Town Hall with her placard, inside more than 50 people had gathered to hear a presentation by Community Windpower Ltd (CWL) senior project manager Steve Milburn about Scoop Hill.

And many of those present voiced their opposition and dissent to the plans for Scotland’s biggest windfarm.

CWL is seeking to construct 80 turbines, each at 650 feet high – taller than the The Gherkin skyscraper in London. Local concerns include the impact on roads with construction traffic, contamination of land and the area reaching ‘saturation point’ with windfarms and scarring the landscape which has been unchanged ‘since the beginning of time’.
