Nominations wanted for biscuit bonanza

A BISCUIT company wants to reward the region’s covid champions with treats.

The Biscuit Baron is owned by Fraser McIntyre, originally from Gatehouse of Fleet, and partner Sophie Whittaker.

And they have begun a search for ‘Covid Champs’, asking the public to nominate who they think have gone over and above during the pandemic.

Fraser, who went to school in Kirkcudbright, said: “We wanted to celebrate this time by giving something back to the unsung heroes who have shed some light on a generally gloomy time in many people’s lives.”

The winning entries will receive a year’s supply of biscuit boxes from around the world. Each box will contain up to eight full packs of biscuits from a different country, every month for 12 months. Runners up will also receive a biscuit prize.

To nominate someone, go to www.thebiscuitbaron.co.uk/covid-champs-entry and submit their story and any photos or videos by September 1.

Fraser and Sophie set up the business in 2018 and are now based in Ayrshire.

They appeared on the BBC show Dragon’s Den in 2019 (season 17), although were unsuccessful in gaining funding.
