NHS receives £76k in corona donations

DONATIONS totalling nearly £76,000 have flooded in to NHS Dumfries and Galloway during the coronavirus outbreak.

It was confirmed this week that Dumfries and Galloway Health Board Endowment Fund has received a number of donations in relation to supporting staff and patients across the region during the Covid-19 pandemic.

About £12,300 in local donations has been made and a further £63,500 has been received from the NHS Charities Together fundraising campaign. To manage these donations, the endowment fund trustees have arranged for a separate Covid-19 fund to be used to hold the monies.

A spokesman added: “As such, these donations are not held within our general unrestricted or other restricted funds unless directed by the donor.”
