Myths theme brings colour to popular music festival

LEGENDS are set to be born this year at the Eden Festival.

Medusas and mermaids are set to flock to a land of dragons and dreams this June when the Eden Festival transports revellers back in time with their Myths and Legends theme.
The festival, based at Raehills Meadows, has developed a Kidz Arena that will transport all ages to Middle Earth and beyond, to a world full of serpents, dragons, elves and fairies.
The area will be awash with colour, beautiful giant flora and other mythical creatures.
Most of the craft workshops will follow the same theme and children will be able to make their own elfish flags, creature masks, carnival birds and time travelling backpacks, culminating in a festival parade across the site on Sunday afternoon.
Producing the Kidz Arena is Maggie March, who said: “We hope to inspire new generations by providing a range of workshops and entertainment whilst being as sustainable as possible and promoting environmentally friendly arts and crafts in a natural setting, at no extra charge to the parents.”
She added: “Other workshops on offer include craft marquee, forest skills tipi, little ones dome, arts yurt, and a storytelling and a puppetry marquee.
“If that wasn’t enough to keep them entertained they can learn new skills such as circus tricks, carpentry, stone masonry, ironmongery and more.
“Plus they can take part in the dance offs, the annual paint fight, be motivated by Mr Motivator, and dazzled by the fire show and firework display.
“Parents can feel assured as the area is managed by a dedicated team of staff, performers and volunteers all working together to create a happy environment.”
Headliners this year include Skye and Ross from Morcheeba, Andreya Triana, King Charles, Gentlemans Dub Club and the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show.
This year’s Eden Festival takes place from June 9 to 12 at the Raehill Meadows, near Moffat.
