Mutch ready for GT Cup

LOCKERBIE racing driver Gordie Mutch will get underway in the GT Cup this weekend at Donington Park alongside teammate Tim Docker.

Gordie will be racing in group GTH with Tim for Paddock Motorsport in a McLaren 570s GT4.

And all the action starts this weekend at Donington with the first of seven race weekends spread out over the coming six months.

Last year was very successful for Gordie, he won the Praga Cup with Jimmy Broadbent and also won the P5 class with Andrew Smith and Alasdair McCaig in the Belgium Spa Six Hours.

Speaking to the Annandale Herald this week, Gordie said: “After the strong year last year with winning the Praga Cup looking after an amateur driver, it put me in a good place for the 2023 season.

“Paddock Motorsport came forward with an option of an AM driver that I could once again build on, this time in a McLaren 570s GT4. “After a test day, it was clear that both of us wanted to work with each other.

“I have been looking to get into GTs for a long time, so it is great to finally achieve this.”

Gordie has also been enjoying success in sim racing and he has most recently joined up with the Apex Racing Team.

He added: “Sim racing has been going great! Recently I joined Apex Racing team, one of the world’s best sim Teams.

“Just this past weekend, Stanley Deslandes and myself got third in the iRacing Sebring 12 Hours in LMP2, one of the biggest endurance events of the year.”
